THAI MASSAGE
About Thai Massage
Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor in loose, comfortable clothing. This type of massage incorporates martial arts motions, rhythmic motion, gentle stretching, and breathwork for the recipient. Unlike other traditional massages, the Thai Massage practitioner is incorporated into the session with the participant. The idea is that there is an energy transfer of loving kindness from the practitioner to the recipient.

Frequently Asked Questions About Thai Massage
What should I wear?
You should be comfortably dressed in loose fitting clothing to allow your body to move. It’s best to dress in layers to accommodate changes in body temperature during the massage.
Does it hurt?
Thai Massage is not painful, but it is very important to inform your practitioner of any pre-existing conditions or previous injuries. Your practitioner uses great care to not over-extend the body. During the massage, keep communicating with your therapist about your desired level of pressure
Do I need to be in shape to receive a Thai Massage?
Thai Massage is beneficial for any and all body types. You do not need to have any skill or technique to receive a Thai Massage.
What happens during a Thai Massage?
A Thai Massage occurs on a special mat on the floor. Your practitioner will gently move your body in a rhythmic fashion for the duration of your massage. You will receive a calming experience, that will relax and invigorate your body and senses. Some people experience an emotional response during the massage, which is perfectly normal. A Thai Massage is a place for anyone to receive unconditional compassion, kindness and respect.
Do I need to know Yoga to receive a Thai Massage?
Not at all! Thai Massage has been lightly referred to as “lazy Yoga” because the therapist does all the work. You are there to relax and enjoy.
What are the before and after care instructions?
Before your massage, ensure you are neither hungry or full. It’s best to eat approximately 1 hour before the massage.
After the massage it is important to stay hydrated with water or tea. Later that day, a warm bath with Epsom salts will allow you to realize the full benefit to your Thai Massage.
